May 28 - CEP Arizona Fall Horse Show Schedule Now Set
CEP will only be offering one October show, the Arizona Fall Classic on October 22-25, at Westworld this year. Last year, CEP offered two weeks in October, but due to Westworld’s new agreements with other events, the first week is no longer available for CEP to hold a show on. CEP’s Chris Collman says, “of course, we are disappointed that Westworld has taken a date away from us that serves the local hunter jumper community in Arizona, but, to be honest with you, the October shows have traditionally been small. Westworld has a business to run, and getting rid of the hunter jumpers in favor of a much larger event of a different discipline was a smart move on their part, and I can’t really blame them.”
The Arizona Fall Classic will also be USEF Regional I (B) rated, not National (A) rated. “When the Tucson Fall Preview, which had experienced very small horse counts for many years, canceled last year, I was allowed by the USEF to take the date and put on a National (A) rated show in Scottsdale … this is where the Arizona Fall Classic came from last year,” says Chris. “This year, the Tucson folks have decided to try their show again, despite the new-found success of the Scottsdale show, which forces both shows down to a Regional I (B) rating. Not ideal, but I guess it will have to work. And since Westworld took away our first week, I have no choice but to have this one week in October,” continues Chris.
The Arizona Fall Classic will be held October 22-25 at Westworld and is rated USEF Regional I (B), Jumper 1 and AHJA recognized. In addition to a full compliment of rated sections, it will host a large variety of Outreach classes with discounted fees. The prize list is expected to be available online in September.
May 9 - Corrections To Entry Fees For Estes Park Festival Shows
An error was discovered in the prize list for the Section Entry Fees for the Short Stirrup, Long Stirrup, Rusty Stirrup, Beginner Rider, Pre-Children’s and Pre-Adult Hunter sections. These were all originally 3 class sections, at $40 per class, total of $120. When the sections were increased to 5 classes, the section entry fee wasn’t adjusted accordingly. This has now been corrected to reflect the proper entry fee of $200 (5 classes at $40 each). The online prize list is now correct. If you downloaded a prize list prior to this time, please note the correction.

September 3 - New Requirements To Bring Horses Onto Westworld Property
Due to recent concerns over equine health, Westworld has instituted new requirements for all horses entering Westworld property. A negative coggins, dated within the previous twelve (12) months, must accompany all horses brought onto Westworld property. A Health Certificate, dated within the previous thirty (30) days, must be presented for any horse originating outside of Arizona. These policies are currently in effect and will be so until further notice. So, all horses coming to Westworld for any CEP horse shows, from Hunt Cup to the “A” shows, must follow this policy.
